A Word from the Head of School

Welcome to the Lexington Latin School.  We invite you to explore our website to better understand our unique culture and academic programs provided at LLS.   What a blessing it is to participate in ordering the loves of our students, in forming their souls, and in cultivating wisdom and virtue in their character.  Our mission is not to merely prepare our students for worldly success but rather at the Lexington Latin School, “in partnership with parents, and guided by the Gospel, we are committed to educating you to the highest standards of the classical tradition. We are committed to forming you intellectually and spiritually through a love of goodness, truth, and beauty so that you may grow in wisdom, virtue, and the love of Our Lord, and more ably use your gifts in the service of others, and for the glory of Christ and his Church.”

A Word from the Lower School Principal

The aim of the LLS Lower School is to cultivate students who embody the Portrait of the Graduate and who, by loving and pursuing proper things, are prepared to engage the world with humble skillfulness and confident care. LLS believes that the best way to cultivate these qualities in our students is through the Liberal Arts, the path of learning long trodden by Christians for centuries.

A Word from the Upper School Dean

The Upper School course of studies is rooted in the tradition of a Christian liberal arts education, challenging students to grow in the pursuit of truth and virtue. Our teachers aim for Cicero’s ideal to teach, move, and delight in their respective areas of instruction.

Students are bound together in time through the rich traditions that begin with the House system.  Modeled to foster leadership, unity, character development, and service, students work together to compete for the annual House Trophy. Other annual events include the much-anticipated fall retreat, the fall barn dance, a spring formal, and an Olympic day. Extracurricular activities encourage students to develop skills and talents, explore new interests, and work with adult leadership. The many offerings include orchestra, sports, drama, and various clubs.

Life at the Upper School encompasses the wonder of teaching and learning, reverence for those who have gone before and left us so much, and the joy of walking with young people as they grow in stature and wisdom.

When it is time to bid farewell, we know that the graduates of LLS are well prepared for college, work, and, most importantly, for a life of service to the glory of God.
